Day 1 : Ho Chi Minh city and arrival ( D )

Arrive at Tan San Nhat airport. Welcome by your local guide and driver. Transfer to your hotel. Take an orientation tour in the afternoon (if time permits). Welcome dinner cruise on the Saigon river. Overnight at your chosen hotel in Ho Chi Minh city.

 

Day 2 : Ho Chi Minh city tour ( B / L / _ )

Breakfast at the hotel. Begin a sightseeing tour by visiting the Reunification Palace, which was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until the end of the war in April 1975, and some French colonial structures including Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Central Post Office. Tour of Chinatown and Thien Hau and Quan Am pagodas. After seeing the Emperor Jade Pagoda and the War Remnants Museum we end the city tour with a visit to Ben Thanh market where anything and everything is for sale. Dinner at the restaurant. Overnight at your chosen hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 3 : Ho Chi Minh city – Tay Ninh – Cu Chi tunnels ( B / L / _ )

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive west to Tay Ninh, the headquarter of Caodaism. O n arrival we attend the fantastic mid-day temple service when the followers fill the hall wearing colored robes, a symbol of the curious combination of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. O n the way back, stop to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground network of tunnels constructed by Vietnamese fighters during the struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, accommodation, etc. and were used as a military base for the Vietcong during the American war. Drive back to HCMC. Dinner at the restaurant.Overnight at your chosen hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 4 : Ho Chi Minh city - Cai Be - Vinh Long - Can Tho (B/L/_)

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Cai Be, stopping to take photos in Tan An town overlooking the picturesque flat rice fields. On arrival in Cai Be, set off by motor boat to visit the Cai Be floating market and watch the locals trading fruit and many other commodities on board their vessels. Then wander into the small villages to visit the orchard and fruit plantation. Keep cruising to Vinh Long through a series of small canals to experience the charms of the Upper Mekong Delta. Visit a small family business to see how coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn are made. Arrive in Binh Hoa Phuoc village, the green pearl of Vinh Long town, where you can immerse yourself in nature. Enjoy a lunch of fresh river food served in the heart of the garden accompanied by traditional southern Vietnamese folk music. Take a delightful walk through the bonsai garden. Meet the driver in Vinh Long. Dinner at the restaurant.Overnight at your chosen hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 5: Can Tho – Ho Chi Minh city ( B/L/_ )

After breakfast, take the morning boat trip to visit the Phong Dien floating market which is at its busiest at this time of day. Keep cruising through the small channels system and visit a rice noodle making village. Experience the "Monkey Bridge" in the Delta. Visit a second floating market (Cai Rang) Break for lunch. Return to Ho Chi Minh City. Dinner at the restaurant.Overnight at your chosen hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

 

Day 6 : Ho Chi Minh city – Departure ( B / _ / _ )

Breakfast at the hotel. Free at leisure until transfer to the airport for departure.
